Last night's performance in San Diego at Humphrey's by the Bay was disappointing. I LOVE Squeeze. He did not show up as the Squeeze performer that I know and love. Squeeze simply appeared to be checked-out. I love EVERYTHING about Squeeze EXCEPT his music, his style, his lyrics, last night's performance. The last time I saw him in concert (last year) he was AMAZING! I tried to see him earlier this year but missed the whole thing and lost the cost of three tickets. Instead, I sat for two and one half hours in traffic, unable to get inside of the Del Mar fair venue in time for the show. So, I was extra excited that he was back in town for a second go and got excellent seats for last night's concert. The Dirty Heads put on a good warm-up band for the main event, just a good show but not amazing. Squeeze looked great, sported sunglasses the entire show, and had on some casual cool threads. But where was the Squeeze performer that I know and love?? I thought perhaps he was really sick but reading the other reviews from weeks ago that say the same thing, I don't think so. Sadly, I will probably not take the chance of spending money to see him again. If this was my first time seeing him, I definitely would not want to spend money on another concert.
